Round Rotherham 50 miles. Great Event! I had a really positive run experience over the 50mile race.
268 miles Ultra Running World Record Attempt
In May 2018 Dave Stevens attempted to run the 268 miles of the Pennine Way, non stop to beat the current record set by Mike Hartley in 1989. The trail is the ultimate ultra running trail, up the spine of Great Britain.
Dave’s attempt ended after 160 miles, after bad weather and the start of hyperthermia on an overnight section.
2019 celebrates the 30th anniversary of Mike Hartleys brilliant record. Dave and his team will attempt the record again.
268 miles
287 gates
249 timber stiles
204 bridges
70 miles of public path
458 waymark signs to guide the way
The trail, which was mainly devised by Tom Stephenson in the 1930s, generally follows a high route along the back of the Pennines from the Peak District to the Tyne Valley and after a short section following Hadrian’s Wall goes north to reach the Scottish border at Kirk Yetholm.
